Release Notes August 2014: Improved Layout and Selected Notifications Statistics

Today we are announcing two new dashboard updates. The first dashboard update is the improved layout of the create/edit geofence screen. The second update is the added feature to select which notifications should be included in the statistics. With selected notifications statistics, you can now see how your campaigns are doing.

Creation of Geofences

We improved the layout of the screens that you need to create or edit geofences. This is also includes the screen that is shown when you create a notification with a new geofence. We have removed the pop-up for picking the location of the geofence. Instead a map is directly shown where you can click on the location you want to pick.

Selected Notifications Statistics

By default the statistics contain information about all notifications. When you want to limit the statistics to a selection of notifications or geofences you can now specify text that the notification message or geofence name must contain. An important use case for this is when you want to see campaign statistics.

The name of the geofence/beacon or the message of the notification must contain all the words you specify. To match an exact phrase you can surround the phrase with quotes. For example: “test phrase”. The matching will be done case-insensitive.

Below the keyword field an estimate is shown on the number of notifications matching the specified keywords. We cannot calculate an estimate when one of the search terms is shorter than 3 characters or when phrases are used, although the statistics will be filtered fine.
