iOS 3.0.0-alpha & Android 3.6.0-beta2 – Release notes 22nd of March

Here we are again, ready to reveal more SDK updates and improvements for both Android and, especially, iOS. In the last few months we’ve been working on the new major version of our iOS SDK, 3.x, that shares the same design principles as its Android counterpart. All that work led to this day, where we are happy to announce that version 3.0.0-alpha is released and available for testing. The Android SDK was also contemplated with a performance improvement to its data update system.

iOS 3.x Alpha release

The 3.x version of our iOS SDK joins it’s Android analogue, which includes the same features and improvements but now for the Apple operating system. This novel version improves the loading of geofences onto the device. It loads campaigns more efficiently, both with respect to data usage and battery usage. This makes the triggering of notifications and the collection of Geotrigger campaigns much more reliable. Support for multiple beacon UUIDs and Home/Work location are also available in this iteration of the product.

Android data update improvement

Android also got a version upgrade with the release of 3.4.1 and 3.6.0-beta2, boasting improvements in the data update performance that are especially noticeable for customers with a high number of active notifications in combination with custom region fields.
