Contextual pages, Android 3.0-beta4, Partnerships and More – Release notes 17 August

We released a new beta version of our Android 3.0 plugin today! This release contains some bug fixes and performance improvements. We also released a new product called Contextual Pages and have boosted the performance of database actions. Additionally, we have a new report in place, that can improve user targeting and we have also improved on our Custom Graphs functionality. Finally, we improved our documentation and added new partnership guides.

Contextual Pages

Our new product, Contextual pages, is available! It is added in the latest iOS SDK 2.2.0 beta and Android SDK 3.0.0 beta (beta4). With this product, it is possible to show location relevant content directly from your app. For more details concerning the implementation of this feature, check our documentation.
We also improved the performance of our campaign list in the dashboard. Previously, deleting a region that was part of a large number of campaigns would cause a delay that prevented any update action on a campaign for a short time. In the current version, a region deletion performs with no additional delay that impacts campaigns.

Improvements in our Android 3.0 SDK

The latest 3.0 beta (3.0-beta4) contains a bugfix regarding the calculations of notification timespans: there was a mismatch between the timezone calculation in the SDK and in our backend, which is now resolved. Another bug that was fixed in this release is related to upgrade installations: when a user would upgrade from an older version of our plugin the app would crash because of a database issue. That issue is now fixed and users can upgrade the app without any problems. Last but not least, we made the communication between the plugin and our servers for sending over notifications more efficient.

Reporting on device home/work locations

We have set up a new report that leverages users’ home or work location: targeting users can now be more relevant than ever by the use of information that our new report offers. For more information, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Custom Graphs in your Dashboard

We also improved our Custom Graphs functionality: you can request and custom graph you would like to have in your Plot Projects Dashboard. Contact you Customer Success Manager for more information on this.

Feedback in Documentation

We added a feedback button to each of our documentation chapters, so tell us what you think! Your input is valuable for us to improve on our documentation.

New Partnerships!

Since we have partnered with Shopgate, TargetEveryone and mParticle, we created the PoC’s that demonstrate how our products work together. We added the corresponding integration guides in our documentation.

Example integrations

What’s more, the example projects for our iOS and Android SDK’s are improved. So if you want to see an example project for an SDK integration, we included them in our plugin download.

Bugfixes

We also improved the performance of our campaign list in the dashboard. Previously, deleting a region that was part of a large number of campaigns would cause a delay that prevented any update action on a campaign for a short time.
